Thanks and thank you for bringing up ...Houndstooth,
Thanks and thank you for bringing up Cherry Mine. It's so true that mining towns have had to deal with these sorts of issues all the time - it's still such a dangerous job all over the world. And absolutely, we're seeing a lot of unrest about disparities currently. History is never stagnant, it is always cycling back towards us. Blessings and thanks for stopping by.Leanna Renee Hieberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10687827421608625020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1016242701616510966.post-29623996580917532452011-03-17T17:36:14.931-04:002011-03-17T17:36:14.931-04:00This is a historical event that I had never heard ...This is a historical event that I had never heard of. Thank you for sharing it! I don't get HBO, but I'll look for another way to watch it.

It reminds me of a disaster that happened not too far from us -- the Cherry Mine disasater. There were many of the same issues about safety and workers' rights. There were some very young boys killed in the mine disaster, too, if I recall correctly.

I think you're right about workers' rights to safety and fair pay in the workplace. I think there is going to be one huge battle in this country soon about these issues.houndstoothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02159272473651561647noreply@blogger.com
