I love the world that is created. The dichotomy of the suppressed and the liberated.

I have loved all things Victoriana, from my early teen years. And I've loved science fiction and especially fantasy since I could read. But my first introduction to steampunk was the costuming! I loved being able to wear the Victorianesque clothing I'd loved for years. And from there, i discovered the books, the maker culture, and all the rest!

Ooo, I had to go look your book up. Looks great. I do love steampunk as the feel of the mystery and the creation in the gadgets...they are magic of their own. :)

One would think that after years of circling the steampunk community that it would eventually tug at my curiosity and/or desires, and I s’pose after a while it’s done just that. Befriending those that run away in fanciful skirts and leather goodies was distracting to say the least, but it took more than that to so much as waken my desire to dip my toes into the steampunkiverse. I’ve always been a fantast nut but never much into science-fiction, though I’ve always said I’ll read anything once. An excuse to have images painted behind my eyelids as I read of corsetry and gadgets, fashion as a whole and the oddities of society and the universe? Yes, I think that’s why steampunk interests me. I have yet to truly delve into the universe through literature or costuming both, and want that extra push to help me take the plunge beyond the whetting of my pallet and the submersion of my toes.
